Maryland NightHawks News Release
Rockville, MD. Please join the ABA Maryland Nighthawks on Thursday, June 1st at the North Bethesda Marriott Hotel and Conference Center as we induct basketball legends George Leftwich, Dick Myers and Gary Williams into the Washington Metropolitan Basketball Hall of Fame. We will also be recognizing National Men's Coach of the Year Jim Larranaga from George Mason University and Coach Brenda Frese of the University of Maryland 2005-2006 National Women's Champions. In addition, we will be honoring the local high school coaches and players of the year. Our MC for the night will be the charming Johnny Holiday. It promises to be a night to remember.
According to Tom Doyle, owner of the Maryland Nighthawks,"We are very proud to be a part of this gala event. Basketball is very big in Maryland and the DC area - and the Nighthawks are truly pleased to be involved."
Tickets to the dinner are $150 a plate. All proceeds will benefit the Five-Star Foundation in Washington DC metropolitan area which provides Five-Star camp scholarships to financially disadvantaged youth dedicated to their personal growth both as student-athletes and as people. For sponsorship opportunities and ticket information, please visit www.dcballhalloffame.com or www.marylandnighthawks.com or call 301 762 2121 or visit www.abalive.com. We look forward to seeing you at this Five-Star studded event.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
