Nighthawks Add Five To Roster

December 21, 2011 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL)
Knoxville NightHawks News Release

KNOXVILLE - The Knoxville Nighthawks' latest group of signees has coach Chris MacKeown feeling pretty satisfied.

Fullback Glenn Revell, defensive lineman Brandon Sesay, rookie offensive lineman Shane Canterbury, defensive back Chris Felder and rookie offensive lineman William Brimfield give the Hawks another dose strength, skill and experience.

"In pro football having a core of players with experience is so important, but so is adding quality rookies into that group," said MacKeown, whose team will start training camp in late February and open the season March 17 at Columbus.

"We are very excited about these two rookie offensive linemen. Both players played college football locally and both have great size and athletic ability. I think this group also shows what we are working so hard to build here in Knoxville and how atractive Knoxville and all of East Tennessee is to players from all over the country. This group includes players from Texas, Georgia and Alabama. We will always work to bring in the best football players we can get." Canterbury (6-foot-7, 320 pounds) spent a year training with the WWE after a standout career at Carson-Newman and Brimfield (6-5, 317) played at Tennessee.

Revell (6-1, 266) has IFL experience, while Sesay (6-6, 277) out of Texas Tech had 13 tackles and two sacks while playing in 15 games for the Arena Football League's Iowa Barnstormers last season.

Alabama-Birmingham alum Felder (5-10, 182) has spent time in the Canadian Football League and had a team second-best 59.5 tackles for the Barnstormers in 2011 to go along with four interceptions.
