La Crosse Night Train News Release
DiAllo Johnson, wide receiver for the La Crosse Night Train, is hopefully on his way to playing in the National Football League. The 6'4", 215 lbs., University of Michigan graduate will attempt to join the Detroit Lions practice squad tomorrow in Detroit, Michigan. He received a call from the Lions on Friday prior to the Night Train's game against Omaha.
Johnson was one of La Crosse's top receivers this season despite a rib injury that sidelined him for two games. In 10 games, Johnson had 41 catches for 494 yards and five touchdowns. He also returned two kicks for 43 yards in a game earlier this season.
"This is great for DiAllo and for the La Crosse Night Train. We knew at the start of the season that DiAllo might move up. He is a consummate professional, a great guy, and a great athlete. We wish him the best," General Manager Michael Grego said.
The Night Train is back in action this Friday night against the Tri-City Diesel. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at the La Crosse Center.
