Night Train Finish Fourth in Pacific North

July 8, 2003 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
La Crosse Night Train News Release

The La Crosse Night Train, last yearÂ’s last-place team in the Pacific Conference North Division, moved out of the cellar in 2003 and finished the season in fourth place in the six-team division. The Night Train ended last season 1-13 overall and 0-8 in divisional games. The team saw improvements this season, however, and finished with a 4-10 overall record and a 4-6 record in divisional play.

The Omaha Beef (11-3 overall, 9-1 div.) won the divisional title for the first time in the teamÂ’s short history in the NIFL. Lincoln (2002 division champion) ended the campaign at 9-5 overall and 7-3 in the division which was good enough for a second-place finish. Sioux City followed in third place at 6-8 overall and 5-5 in the division.

La CrosseÂ’s divisional record secured a fourth-place finish as three teams finished up 4-10 overall this season. La Crosse placed fourth followed by Show Me (4-10, 3-7) and Tri-City (4-10, 2-8).

Omaha is the only team from the North division to advance to the NIFL playoffs. The Beef will take on the Bismarck Roughriders in the first round on Saturday July 12 in Omaha.
