
NIFL Playoffs Set, Division All-Stars Announced
July 7, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL) News Release
Lafayette, LA--The National Indoor Football League will begin post season play this weekend as Round 1 of the NIFL Playoffs commences.
The road to Indoor Bowl IV will begin in the Atlantic Conference as the Lexington Horsemen (10-4) host the Atlantic City CardSharks (9-5) at Rupp Arena on Saturday. On Sunday, the Show Me Believers (9-5) will take their high powered offense on the road as they face the Fort Wayne Freedom (8-6) in Indiana.
In the Pacific Conference, playoff action begins Friday night as the Utah Warriors (6-8) play host to the Tri-City Diesel (11-3) at the E-Center. On Saturday, the Sioux City Bandits (8-6) hit the road to take on the Omaha Beef (9-5) in Nebraska.
The top two seeds in both conferences, Ohio Valley and Houma in the Atlantic Conference along with Sioux Falls and Billings in the Pacific Conference, will enjoy a bye in Round 1. The number one seed in each conference, Ohio Valley and Sioux Falls, will host the lowest remaining seeds in NIFL Conference Semifinal action next weekend.
In other news, the NIFL announced today the 2004 Division All-Stars from around the league as voted on by head coaches, team executives, team broadcasters/media relations staff, and local media outlets. A full rundown of award winners are included in this press release, as well as on the NIFL Website. These divisional winners will now be eligible for Conference All-Star honors, with voting taking place this week.
