NIFL Cancels Capitols Last Game
Lincoln, NE - The NIFL Executive committee, Billings Mavericks and Lincoln Capitols have canceled the contest slated for Saturday July, 2nd at Pershing Auditorium. The decision to cancel the game transpired after a two hour conference call, initiated by Billings owner Dan Austin, Tuesday night.
The decision was based on the two principles; the teams having already played twice during the 2005 season and Billings already qualifying for the playoffs. The game would have no bearing on the playoff seeding and the costs that would have been incurred by Billings to travel to Lincoln would be better spent on their first round playoff game.
