Nicole Barnhart Re-Signs with FC Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO - The 2014 and 2015 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Champion, FC Kansas City announced today the re-signing of longtime goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart who will return with the Blues for a fourth season. Per club and league policies, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"Barnie [Barnhart] has been one of the corner stones of our team for the past three years and we are, of course, thrilled to have her back for another season." Director of Soccer Operations and GM Huw Williams said.

In three seasons with FC Kansas City, Barnhart, 34, has started and played 59 games. In 2013, she recorded a total of 67 saves in over 1800 minutes and allowed an average of .95 goals per game. In addition, she was named NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year and named to the league's Best XI.

During her second season with the Blues, Barnhart totaled 71 saves in 22 matches and was instrumental for FC Kansas City to win its first ever NWSL title.

This past season, the Stanford University product led the league in shutouts and wins with eight and averaged .941 goals per game. Her leadership on and off the field led Coach Vlatko Andonovski's team to its second consecutive championship.
