Omaha Nighthawks News Release

A RUNDOWN OF WEDNESDAY'S HAPPENINGS AT TRAINING CAMP

The Nighthawks took part in their third of seven two-a-day practices on Wednesday in beautiful weather conditions. The team spent the morning practice at the Kroc Center in Omaha, but moved to Omaha Bryan High School for the night practice to play under lights. The team put on full pads in the morning, and the defense got a little tackling practice in some scrimmage plays toward the end of practice. Head Coach Jeff Jagodzinski had the offense practice getting out of their end zone, and some 1-on-1 wide receiver/cornerback drills provided some entertainment for fans in attendance.

PLAY OF THE DAY

The play of the day came in the 1-on-1 wide receiver/cornerback drill when cornerback Demarcus Faggins dove to intercept a pass thrown across the middle. Faggins' effort was applauded by his position coach, Joe Tresey, and by the fans. Later in practice, Jay Moore and Nic Clemons batted down passes in the backfield, while Willie Williams and Angelo Crowell teamed up for a stuff on a rushing attempt. The secondary made more good plays, as Eric Green broke up a sure catch and newly signed Clinton Hart came from his safety position to the sideline to break up a pass. DJ Shockley hit Jeb Putzier for a 20-yard gain, and fullback Tommy Fraser caught a couple passes for big pick-ups in the open field.

GET TO KNOW YOUR NIGHTHAWKS

The Nighthawks have a pair of former All-Big 12 specialists on their roster. Kicker Jeff Wolfert earned First-Team All-Big 12 honors at Missouri in 2007 and 2008. Punter Justin Brantly was a First-Team All-Big 12 selection for Texas A&M in 2008.

NIGHTHAWKS' TRANSACTIONS

- Signed running back Andre Hall. Hall played for South Florida from 2004-2005, and has spent time with four NFL teams.

CAMP SCHEDULE

After working out at the Kroc Center Wednesday morning, the Nighthawks moved their evening practice to Omaha Bryan High School. The team will return to the Kroc Center for practice at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. On Friday, the team will go through another two-a-day in preparation for a scrimmage on Saturday that will be open to season-ticket holders. The official time and location of the scrimmage will be announced soon.

WEATHER REPORT

The Nighthawks are getting plenty of love from Mother Nature this week. Wednesday's practices featured highs in the upper 70s with sun and a light breeze.
