
Newest Ice Bear Sich Named SBK Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, NC (March 2, 2011) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Rob Sich of the Knoxville Ice Bears is the SBK Player of the Week for February 21-27.
In his first three games with the Ice Bears, the LaSalle, Ontario native scored four goals, added two assists and was +4 as Knoxville maintained their hold on the sixth and final playoff spot with a pair of road wins.
On Thursday, Sich scored two goals and assisted on a third as the Ice Bears defeated Huntsville 5-3. Sich came back on Friday with a one goal, one assist performance as Knoxville doubled up Mississippi 6-3. On Saturday, he scored his fourth goal of the week in a 5-4 loss to the Surge.
Sich, who has a four-game goal-scoring streak, is second in the SPHL in goals (31) and tied for third in points (58) and power-play goals (9). Now in his sixth professional season, Sich set a new SPHL record last year by scoring 63 goals.
