Orlando Titans News Release

New York, NY -- The New York Titans (5-5) of the National Lacrosse League take on the Philadelphia Wings (7-1) for the second time this season on Saturday, March 22 at 7:30pm at Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ.

The Titans played the Wings for the first time in 2008 on February 29 at the Wachovia Center and lost 16-12 in a tough and physical match-up.

"We were close in the early fourth quarter [of the last match-up] and we blinked a little bit," said Titans head coach Adam Mueller. "And they've been turning it on in the fourth quarter. That's one key, if we happen to be close with them in the fourth, we have to make sure every shift is efficient. They've beaten every team they've played so far this year, we've got an uphill battle."

The Titans have won four of their last five games and are currently in fifth place in the East, one half game out of the play-offs. They enter the game in Trenton against Philadelphia after having rolled over the Toronto Rock 14-10 at the Air Canada Centre on Saturday, March 14th.

Titans Goalie Matt Vinc had an incredible night against the Rock, recording a weekend-high 51 saves and holding Toronto to only 10 goals in the victory, his best performance to date. The win earned him the NLL Defensive Player of the Week award.

Titans Assistant Captain Ryan Boyle also had a breakout night against the Rock, scoring four goals and dishing two assists.

Although the Titans seem to be firing on all cylinders at this time in the season, facing Philadelphia will test their mettle as they hunt for a playoff spot in the stacked Eastern conference.

"[Philadelphia is the] toughest opponent in league this year," Mueller said. "They're playing good defense, they're scoring on transition, and they're scoring on five on five they're scoring on rebounds and resets. They're scoring every which way you can. We're just hoping we can tighten up more on defense and give them tighter angles on their shots and [keep the score] close."

The Titans next game is on Saturday, April 5 at Minnesota against the Swarm at 8pm. The Titans return to the Garden on Saturday, April 12 at 8pm, when they take on the Buffalo Bandits.
