Orlando Titans News Release
New York, NY-- The New York Titans have signed veteran defender Jamie Hanford to a one year deal. The 6'2", 225 pound defender played for the Colorado Mammoth for the past five seasons.
Hanford has played in the NLL since 1999 after the Philadelphia Wings selected him with the 6th overall pick in the 1998 NLL Entry draft. The face-off specialist has had a stellar career in the NLL, making two All-Star appearances, once as a member of the New Jersey Storm and another in 2005 with the Mammoth. He has made the playoffs eight out of his nine seasons playing in the league and hoisted the Championship cup with the Wings in 2001 and the Mammoth in 2006. Hanford was the best face-off man in the league from 2002 through 2005 and again in 2007, when he led the league with 275 face-off wins and had the league's third-best face-off winning percentage (.661).
As an undergraduate at Loyola College in Maryland, Hanford was a three-time All-American and was named the NCAA's top face-off player in 1998, his senior year. Hanford is from Darien, Connecticut.
In addition to signing Hanford, the Titans have also signed defenseman Nate Andres, defenseman Greg Downing and goalie Chris Collins.
