New York Riptide News Release
Uniondale, NY - The New York Riptide announced today that the team has signed General Manager Jim Veltman, Head Coach Dan Ladouceur, Offensive Coordinator Jason Crosbie, and Defensive Coordinator Pat Jones to three-year contract extensions. In addition, Video Coordinator Bennett Drake has been promoted to Director of Scouting, US Scout, and will retain his Video Coordinator duties.
After inheriting a 1-13 team upon their arrival in July 2020, the team signed four-time NLL All-Pro Callum Crawford and selected two-time Tewaaraton Trophy nominee Jeff Teat with the first overall pick in the 2020 NLL Entry Draft. The team scored the second most goals per game in the League, as well as a second-place finish in shooting percentage, improving on their last place finish from the 2019-20 season in both categories.
"Since I arrived on Long Island it was a goal of mine to make us the premier team in the National Lacrosse League, and that starts with an excellent group to lead," Riptide Executive Vice President Rich Lisk said. "I am thrilled with the progress that the staff has made and I'm looking forward to watching them continue to build the team into something special, continuing today with the NLL Entry Draft."
The Riptide will return to Nassau Coliseum in December for the 2022-23 season. Season Ticket Memberships are on sale now and are the best way to enjoy the Riptide at an unbeatable price. Benefits include an exclusive post game meet and greet with team, player clinics on the Nassau Coliseum turf, Free VIP parking, an exclusive season ticket member gift, a season ticket member merchandise sale, a flexible ticket exchange program so no tickets go unused and can be added to another game, and much more.
