New York Riptide News Release

Uniondale, NY - The New York Riptide have acquired forward Reilly O'Connor and a 2022 first round pick (8th overall) from the Albany Firewolves in exchange for forward Kieran McArdle and a 2022 first round pick (4th overall), the team announced today. The deal is pending league approval.

Last season, O'Connor scored 54 points on 15 goals and 39 assists with 65 loose balls in 17 games played. In Albany's playoff game against Buffalo, O'Connor scored two goals and two assists, scooping three loose balls. Drafted by the Calgary Roughnecks in the first round (7th overall) of the 2015 NLL Entry Draft, O'Connor has logged 96 career games, scoring 295 points on 92 goals and 203 assists, and scooping 346 loose balls.

"We are very excited to add such a talented lacrosse player to our team and all the intangibles that Riley O'Connor brings," Riptide General Manager Jim Veltman said. "We feel he will have an immediate impact that will propel our team's progress forward for right now and for the foreseeable future. He has been on our radar for a while, so we can't wait for the contributions we know that he will make to our squad."

The Riptide will return to Nassau Coliseum in December for the 2022-23 season. Season Ticket Memberships are on sale now and are the best way to enjoy the Riptide at an unbeatable price. Benefits include an exclusive post game meet and greet with team, player clinics on the Nassau Coliseum turf, free VIP parking, an exclusive season ticket member gift, a season ticket member merchandise sale, a flexible ticket exchange program so no tickets go unused and can be added to another game, and much more.
