
New York Dazzles announce coaching lineup

NEW YORK, July 1, 2005-The New York Dazzles, a franchise of the seven year old Women's Professional Football League and the only professional women's football team playing in the metropolitan New York area, announced the team's coaching staff for the 2005 season.
Andy Goetz was named Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the New York Dazzles. Goetz was quarterback for Long Island University Blackbirds and comes to the Dazzles with over 25 years of experience coaching football. As a Head Coach, Goetz has garnered a reputation for his ability to turn talented athletes into winning football players.
Rich Messemer, a veteran coach of women's pro football, will serve as Defensive Coordinator for the 2005 season. Alan Whelan, captain of the NY Rugby Club 1969-70 and founder of the St. John's University Rugby Club, will serve as Special Teams Coach. Secondary school athletic director and high school football coach Dennis Sulinski will join Kevin Watson as Assistant Coach.

The New York Dazzles play their first home game September 3 at 7 PM against the Empire State Roar. The game will be played at Columbia University's Lawrence A. Wien Stadium at West 218 Street in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan.
