New Wichita Falls Team To Hold Naming Contest
July 28, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Wichita Falls, TX. The new expansion ABA Wichita Falls professional basketball team scheduled to begin play in December today announced that they will turn to the fans of Wichita Falls to name the team.
"We were sitting around thinking about good names," said Nick Moore, team owner. "And one of the people said why don't we let the fans name the team? So, that's what we're going to do. And we'll award a nice prize for the best name." If you have a good idea for a team name, email either motivatethechildren@hotmail.com or motivatethechildren@yahoo.com. "And better yet," added Moore, who works closely with children, "We're going to look for a name nominated by a kid - so please include your age." For more information, visit www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
