New Ownership Group To Operate ABA Buffalo Silverbacks

September 25, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Buffalo Silverbacks News Release

(Buffalo, NY - Sept. 25) Vincent Lesh of Concerts Plus has purchsed the ABA Buffalo Silverbacks from Prolink Sports Marketing, a Thaddeus Wier owned company.

Mr. Wier said, "Vincent Lesh approached us last year about possibly helping us promote the Silverbacks. Vincent is a very successful event promoter and has many creative ideas to build a strong fan base. I believe he will be very successful in his efforts. We couldn't be happier to assist Vincent in any way we can. Mr. Lesh will continue the "Do Your Best, Never Quit' community outreach effort of the Buffalo Silverbacks."

Mr. Lesh said, "The timing could not have worked out better for us. Our entertainment business is doing well and the addition of the Buffalo Silverbacks just makes sense, given the promotional network we have established from working with many other local and regional businesses. With the upcoming ABA season only five weeks away, it will be impossible for Buffalo to play this season. Our initial season will be the 2008-2009 season, with our first game in November of 2008. With the additional time to build a strong organization, this will ensure that professional basketball will remain in Buffalo for many years to come."

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
