NEW ORLEANS (August 12, 2011) - For the second time this week, New Orleans VooDoo WR/KR PJ Berry is blanketed with league honors. Yesterday, the Arena Football League named Berry to the 1st Team All-Arena for special teams. Earlier this week, the Arena Football League announced Berry as the JLS Ironman of the Year, recognizing his work on both the offensive side of the ball and his record-setting achievements on special teams.

Berry made history in 2011 when he set a new AFL record for all-purpose yards (3,708) in a single regular season as a member of the VooDoo, while setting VooDoo record books on fire, including recording 200+ all-purpose yards in 11 games. Berry's greatest performance on the field came in the form of a 339 all-purpose yardage game against the Arizona Rattlers, who play the Jacksonville Sharks in ArenaBowl XXIV in Phoenix tonight.

"Superman," as he his known around the league, also set a new league bar for kickoff returns (101), led the league in kickoff return yards (2,043), and ranked fourth in the AFL with 155 receptions.

"I'm so proud of PJ. Anytime he touches the ball, there is the potential for something amazing to happen. As a fan, PJ adds an element of excitement to our game that is unmatched and I love to watch him play," said Dan Newman, Owner of the New Orleans VooDoo.

Berry's inclusion on the All-Arena Team is also in addition to his spot on the All-Ironman Team for 2011.
