New Orleans VooDoo News Release
NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans VooDoo (8-10) secured the No. 4 spot in the American Conference playoffs and will travel to play the No. 1 seed Philadelphia Soul (14-3). The playoff berth for the VooDoo marks only the second postseason appearance for the team in its history, and first since 2004.
The VooDoo and Soul will play on Saturday, July 28 with kickoff at 6:05 p.m. CT.
"We are blessed with the opportunity to go to the playoffs. We do have some things to clean up to get to playing to the best of our ability," said VooDoo Head Coach Pat O'Hara. "This is a great group of guys, and I have believed in them all season. Going to Philadelphia is not an easy task and we will stress that to our team this entire week."
The VooDoo and Soul met in Week 2 this season, with Philadelphia winning 63-62. The game ended as the Soul blocked a VooDoo field goal as time expired.
