New Mexico Stars add more talent to the roster

New Mexico Stars News Release
Rio Rancho - On Wednesday the New Mexico Stars added more firepower to their roster for the coming 2013 season by signing Cale Ware of Haskell Indian Nations University, Justin Sydney of Dakota Wesleyan University, and Victor Rogers of the Knoxville Nighthawks of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL).
Ware is a 23-year-old full-blooded Kiowa Indian who started 3 years at Linebacker in college and will play Mac Linebacker and Fullback for the Stars. He is excited to play for the Stars and is looking forward to getting to know the Native American communities around the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas. "Being Native American it is important for me to play with a team that has our traditions and culture engrained into it" said Ware. "New Mexico has 22 different tribes I believe; I would like to bring fans from all the tribes so we can showcase Native American pride both on the field, and in the stands!"
Sydney is a 5'9" WR/KR that most recently spent time with West Texas Roughnecks and Pittsburgh Power in training camp, and now lives in Los Angeles, CA. Sydney may lack height, but he makes up for it with his legs as he runs a 4.45 40-yard dash and a 4.21 3-cone shuttle (or L) drill. To put that in perspective, the 40 time would have ranked him in the top 20 for WRs this past NFL combine, and the cone drill would have ranked him in the top 10.
Rogers is a graduate of McNeese State University in southern Louisiana, where he returned kicks and played Cornerback and Free Safety. "I play 100 percent on every play" Rogers said. "Football is all about tenacity and perseverance; it's about understanding who you are as a person, and being that person every day of your life. I have what it takes to make it to the NFL, and I feel blessed to be given a chance to showcase my talent for the Stars and their fans."
The Stars previously announced the signing of former University of New Mexico WR Roland Bruno and QB Donovan Portarie. The 2014 LSFL season will kick off mid-March and will feature two new teams, the Odessa Wildcatters and the Rio Grande Valley Sol.
