The Danbury Whalers and TK's American Cafe in Danbury are proud to announce that on Sunday, February 17th 5:05 pm when the Danbury Whalers take on the Pennsylvania Bluefins that night's promotion will be a tribute New Haven Hockey.

The Danbury Whalers organization would also like to welcome special guests and families from Sandy Hook.

The My Sandy Hook Family Fund proudly supports Jake Hockley who will be dropping the ceremonial first puck at tomorrow night's game in honor of his brother Dylan.

Today's game will be about paying tribute to the 76 years (1926-2002) of professional hockey history in the City of New Haven.

Richard Hanley, the Producer of the CPTV documentary on the New Haven Coliseum titled the Last Days of the New Haven Coliseum, will also be on hand and will have the 2-hour DVD as prize giveaways throughout the night.

The Danbury Whalers will wear throwback New Haven Nighthawks jerseys for that night's game. The jerseys will be auctioned off and signed by the players. The jersey to be worn will have the red, white, and blue look of the Nightshawks in the last 80's when the club was affiliated New York Rangers.

There will also be a few former New Haven players in attendance that night at the game. The players will address the crowd and share their New Haven experiences.

Former New Haven Coliseum organist, Dan Bartaletta (currently the Whalers organist) will also be on hand to take us back to the New Haven hockey era.

TK's American Café in Danbury is the sponsor of the night and the postgame party following will be at TK's. Owner, Tom Kennedy commented, "We got our start in New Haven and have lot of great memories of that time. New Haven, Nighthawks hockey, and TK's Wings...those were some awesome times and I'm happy we can be a part of this tribute night."

If you are a fan of New Haven Hockey this is a night you won't want to miss.

This game will also feature a fundraising program by the Newtown Schools for the My Sandy Hook Family Fund and the Ward Prudential Group will be bringing the Sunshine Kids to the game.

The Big Buddha Cigar Lounge will also be in attendance. Stop by their booth and check out the goods. With Big Buddha there's always a match.

Before the game, be sure to eat at Two Steps Downtown Grille before the game. Try the Big Juicy Danbury Whalers Burger - It's fantastic.

Park in the Patriot Garage across the street from the Danbury Ice Arena. It's safe, secure, and legal. Make sure the only ticket you get is to the game.
