Foxborough, MA - The New England Revolution today promoted Craig Tornberg to the position of General Manager. Tornberg, who has been with the Revolution since 1995, previously served as the team's Assistant General Manager and Director of Fan Development.

"Craig is very deserving of this position," said Revolution Chief Operating Officer Lou Imbriano. "He's been tireless in his dedication to the Revolution and has been instrumental in the growth of professional soccer in New England. His knowledge of our fan base and the business of soccer makes him the ideal General Manager for the Revolution."

"I feel honored to have been given this position by the Kraft family," said Tornberg. "I have the utmost respect for commitment that the Krafts have made to the sport we love. I'm extremely fortunate to be able to work with our exceptional coaches and players and our first rate staff. Most importantly, we have a great base of soccer fans to help the sport continue to grow here in New England."

Tornberg began his career with the Revolution at the club's inception in 1995 in the area of ticket sales, before advancing to the position of Special Projects Manager. After working in New England for the first two seasons of MLS, he joined Fusion FC in Florida in 1998 for the launch of that MLS club. Tornberg returned to New England later that same year and has been an integral part of Revolution management ever since, working as the club's Director of Operations and then as Director of International Alliances before being named Assistant General Manager at the beginning of 2003.

Tornberg's involvement with professional soccer in the Boston market extends back to 1991, when he assisted in the staging of the World Series of Soccer at Foxboro Stadium. He continued his work in helping to make Foxboro Stadium one of the most successful American venues for international soccer events including working on the 1994 FIFA World Cup and then as the Foxboro Stadium Venue Manager for the U.S. Cup in 1995.

Season tickets for the 2004 Revolution season are on sale now. Call 1-877-GET-REVS for tickets or more information.
