
New agreement with QMJHL officials announced

BOUCHERVILLE, August 3rd 2011 - The Commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Gilles Courteau, announced today that a four-year agreement was reached with officials of the league. The terms of the new contract are similar to those listed in the previous agreement that expired at the end of the 2010-11 playoffs.
"We were able to reach an equitable agreement for all the league's officials," said the commissioner. The negotiations were conducted with the support and contributions of a number of officials representing the different divisions of the league including Daniel Bechard, Christian Boudreault, Serge Carpentier, Nicolas Dutil Francois Fortin and Tim Hamel.
Richard Trottier, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Director of Officiating said he was happy with the content. "We have reached a good agreement, the League has done a good job. Respect and communication between the parties contributed to the success of this long process. I am certain that the league's officials are satisfied with the new agreement."
