
NEPA Breakers sign first player

SCRANTON, PA - (March 21, 2005) The United States Basketball League's (USBL) Northeast Pennsylvania (NEPA) Breakers have made former NBA player and NCAA scoring leader, Charles Jones, the organization's first player. In Jones, the Breakers have a solid veteran player and leader to build their team around.
"Charles' great work ethic and experience will help us mold the newer players," said Breakers Head Coach, Al Clocker. "His leadership will provide a solid backbone for our team this season."
Jones played for the Chicago Bulls (1998-99) and Los Angeles Clippers (1999-00) of the NBA after finishing his collegiate career at Long Island University. Since then, Jones has played for several professional teams throughout the World including a stop with the Brooklyn Kings in 2003 where he averaged 11.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.7 apg over 24 games. Jones is currently playing in Argentina.
Charles will also be on hand when the Breakers conduct their first Tryout Camp on March 26th at Lackawanna College in Scranton, PA. If interested in attending, please visit the online home of the team, www.nepabreakers.com.
