May 29, 2012 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Texas Tornado News Release
Last Friday, former Tornado forward Neilsson Arcibal was named to USA Hockey's 14-player roster for the International Ice Hockey Federation InLine World Championship. The tournament will be held from June 1-June 7 in Ingolstadt, Germany.
"It's a great honor for Archie to be named to the U.S. Inline National Team," Tornado head coach and general manager Tony Curtale said. "He was a very hard-worker in the time he was here and we knew he'd have success wherever he went."
Arcibal played in 110 games over two seasons for the Tornado from 2005-2007, scoring 27 goals and 36 assists, and was also a member of the 2006 Robertson Cup championship team. After spending the 2007-2008 season with Des Moines in the USHL, Arcibal played four seasons of Division-I hockey for American International College of the Atlantic Hockey Association. As a member of the Yellow Jackets from 2008-2012, the Carlsbad, Calif. native picked up 27 goals and 56 assists in 161 games. Following the completion of his collegiate career in March, Arcibal signed with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. In 11 combined playoff and regular season games with the Stingrays, he was held to just one goal.
Now, however, Arcibal will temporarily ditch the sheet of ice and Stingrays sweater in order to represent the United States in Germany on inline skates. He is also one of nine players on the U.S. Inline National Team to hail from California, a hotbed for inline hockey.
