The Highlanders won their only scheduled game this week, a 94- 90 "school day" triumph over Halifax on Thursday in front of over 2,000 school kids. Newly-acquired Deshaunt Walker finished the game with a team-high 22 points, while Kenny Jones added 20 points and pulled down 9 rebounds in the Highlanders win.
Halifax Hurricanes

In the span of five days, the Hurricanes played three games - and lost all three matches. In the three games, Joel Kindred's 19.3 ppg was the top scorer for the Nova Scotia crew; Jordan Washington followed with 15.7 ppg. In returning to the lineup after an injury, Gabe Freeman averaged 10.0 rebounds per game in two contests.
Island Storm

Two losses on the road against the St. John's Edge caused the Storm to fall to a 2-4 season mark. The team was led this week in scoring by Sampson Carter (26.5 ppg) and Russell Byrd (25.5 ppg); Carter also pulled down 9.0 rebounds per game this week.
KW Titans

The Titans lost both their games this week, to Sudbury and to Windsor, both by scores of 122-114. Akeem Ellis' 22.5 points per game led the KW crew in scoring, while Derek Hall finished with 16.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg.
London Lightning

With a new head coach in Elliott Ethington, the Lightning rallied to defeat the Sudbury Five, 120-117 on Saturday night. While AJ Gaines led the Bolts in scoring with 25 points, and Garrett Williamson and Kirk Williams Jr. notched 20 points apiece, Xavier Moon had a full-rounded game with 13 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals.
Moncton Magic

The Moncton Magic are now the second team in NBL Canada history to begin a season undefeated through ten games, thanks to wins against Halifax and Saint John this week. Doug Herring Jr. scored back-to-back triple-doubles, averaging 15 ppg, 10.5 rpg and 10 apg. Corey Allmond (22.5 ppg) and Billy White (21.0 ppg) were the leading scorers for the Magic this week.
Saint John Riptide

The Riptide's only game this week was a 93-86 Sunday afternoon loss to the Moncton Magic, in which Brent Arrington led the Port City crew with 15 points. Chris Early had a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Frank Bartley (14) and Jeremiah Mordi (13) also scored in double figures for Saint John.
St. John's Edge

After struggling in the first quarter of the NBL season, the Edge claimed two hard-fought victories over the Island Storm this week to improve their record to 4-5. Desmond Lee and Marcus Jones Sr averaged 24.0 and 21.0 ppg, while new acquisition Obinna Oleka pulled down 9.0 rebounds per game. The other new acquisition for the Newfoundland and Labrador crew, Glen "Big Baby" Davis, joined the team this week and achieved 4.5 points per game off the bench.
Sudbury Five

Two wins in three matches this week keeps the Sudbury Five in second place in the NBL's standings. Braylon Rayson (25.0) and Travis Releford (22.5 ppg) were the top scorers, with Grandy Glaze having a league-high average of 14.3 rebounds this week.
Windsor Express

After struggling in the early part of the season, the Express took a win last Saturday, a 122-114 overtime win against the KW Titans. Newly-acquired Tyrrel Tate garnered 19 points and 10 rebounds, matching nicely with Juan Pattillo's team-high 22 points.

NBL CANADA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Doug Herring Jr. of the Moncton Magic has been named Player of the Week for the week ending December 16, 2018.
Herring, a 6'3" guard who played collegiately at Utica (N.Y.), had back-to-back triple doubles in Moncton's two victories this week, Herring's 15.0 points per game, 10.5 rebounds and 10.0 assists per game helped the Magic reach a 10-0 regular season record.
"Doug has really stepped up into a true leadership role with our team this season," said Moncton head coach Joe Salerno, "he just makes everybody around him better. We have a target on our back, again Doug is the type of guy who never shies away from a challenge, and he comes up huge for us in big moments in big games. We look forward to more of the same from him."

NBL CANADA CANADIAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Grandy Glaze of the Sudbury Five has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending December 16, 2018.
Glaze, a 6'9" forward who played collegiately at Grand Canyon University, averaged 14.3 rebounds in three games this week, including two victories by the Five to keep Sudbury in the upper half of the NBL Canada standings.
Grandy's a special player," said Sudbury head coach Logan Stutz. "He brings a knack for rebounding and a knack for energy, he brings it all the time. That's just Grandy."
