Doug Herring Jr., Grandy Glaze Named Players of the Week

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Doug Herring Jr. of the Moncton Magic has been named Player of the Week for the week ending December 16, 2018.

Herring, a 6'3" guard who played collegiately at Utica (N.Y.), had back-to-back triple doubles in Moncton's two victories this week, Herring's 15.0 points per game, 10.5 rebounds and 10.0 assists per game helped the Magic reach a 10-0 regular season record.

"Doug has really stepped up into a true leadership role with our team this season," said Moncton head coach Joe Salerno, "he just makes everybody around him better. We have a target on our back, again Doug is the type of guy who never shies away from a challenge, and he comes up huge for us in big moments in big games. We look forward to more of the same from him."

The National Basketball League of Canada is also pleased to announce that Grandy Glaze of the Sudbury Five has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending December 16, 2018.

Glaze, a 6'9" forward who played collegiately at Grand Canyon University, averaged 14.3 rebounds in three games this week, including two victories by the Five to keep Sudbury in the upper half of the NBL Canada standings.

Grandy's a special player," said Sudbury head coach Logan Stutz. "He brings a knack for rebounding and a knack for energy, he brings it all the time. That's just Grandy."
