NBDL daily developments

Published on March 25, 2005 under NBA G League (G League) News Release

ALL BUT ONE: Three of four NBDL postseason spots are filled. Columbus, Roanoke and Asheville are assured a berth in the sudden-death format which begins the weekend of April 15-17. Huntsville has the upper hand toward getting the final spot, but Fayetteville refuses to give up the fight. One Patriots' loss or one Flight win rounds out the field with Huntsville aboard.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "The one and done makes it interesting. There's not a lot of science to it ...it's whoever plays well that night."...Asheville coach Joey Meyer talking about the NBDL postseason in today's edition of the Asheville Citizen-Times.

FORTE FIT: After playing his way back into basketball shape, Asheville's Joe Forte has come on strong late in the season. A first round selection in the 2001 NBA Draft, the former North Carolina star has averaged 19.7 points over the last six games, 27.5 over the last two.

RODNEY RECORD: Huntsville forward Rodney Bias broke his own NBDL single-game rebounding record with 26 boards in the Flight's triple-overtime win at Florida on Thursday. His 24 rebounds against the Flame on December 11 of this season was the previous standard.

OTHER NEW STANDARDS: In addition to Bias' rebounding mark, three other single game records fell Thursday at Florida. Flame forward Kirk Haston played 54 minutes, the two teams combined for 260 points and Huntsville set the mark for field goal attempts with 110.

BACK ON TOP: On the wings of Thursday's performance, Rodney Bias returned to the top of the league rebounding charts with 13.2 per game. Roanoke's James Thomas is nipping at his heels with 13.0.
