MALONE SIGHTING: Columbus head coach Jeff Malone is expected to return to the Riverdragons bench this week after missing six games with a nagging back injury. Malone should coach the Dragons when Asheville visits on Wednesday. Assistant coach Dean Murray was 4-2 as the interim head coach in Malone's absence.

NBDL ALUMNI CHECK...from Sunday's NBA games
· Anthony Johnson (Mobile) scored 17, had 8 assists and 5 rebounds in 36 minutes for the Pacers.
· Bobby Simmons (Mobile) had 11 points and 12 rebounds in 39 minutes for the Clippers.
· Rafer Alston (Mobile) scored 17 (6-9 FGA) and had 5 assists in 27 minutes for the Raptors.
· Billy Thomas (Greenville) was activated from the Nets injured list.

THE POSTSEASON: The 2004-05 NBDL postseason will be a single-elimination format with the top two regular season finishers hosting the third and fourth seeds on the weekend of April 15-17. The NBDL postseason championship game will be held the weekend of April 22-24 at the arena of the highest remaining seed.

IF THE POSTSEASON STARTED TODAY: Columbus would host Huntsville and Roanoke would host Asheville in semi-final games.

STILL ALIVE: Fayetteville and Florida are still mathematically alive for a postseason spot, but the light is growing dim. The Patriots are six games behind fourth-place Huntsville with 10 games to play, while the Flame is 7½ games behind the Flight with 11 games to play.
