MALONE HONORED: Columbus Riverdragons head coach Jeff Malone has been named by Vandymania.com as one of the top five Southeastern Conference players in the decade of the 80s. Malone, who played collegiately at Mississippi State, was selected to the first team along with fellow future NBA players Sam Bowie (Kentucky), Charles Barkley (Auburn), Dominique Wilkins (Georgia) and Chris Jackson (LSU). Ansu Sesay, NBDL MVP in 2001-02, was an honorable mention selection for the decade of the 90s.

BUSY TUESDAY: The NBDL transaction wire was busy on Tuesday. Veteran point guard Smush Parker returned to the Florida Flame after a GATORADE Call-up with the Phoenix Suns, while Asheville claimed rookie forward Seth Doliboa and immediately traded him to Roanoke for NBDL veteran forward Terrance Shannon.
THE SMUSH DIFFERENCE: The Florida Flame averages 93.5 points per game, fourth in the NBDL. With Smush Parker in the lineup the Flame averages 101.5 points per game, with Parker getting 17.3 points and 7.0 assists per game.
DAZZLE D.A.R.E: The Roanoke Dazzle has teamed with the sheriff's department to take a lead role in the D.A.R.E. Gang Program, a part of the "Cops and Kids" initiative in the Roanoke Valley. Dazzle players will be in eight Roanoke city schools on Friday to challenge kids to stay away from gangs and drugs, as well as to educate them to the fact that law enforcement is their partner to fight both.

THURSDAY ON NBA TV: The NBDL "Game of the Week" show features the Florida at Fayetteville game from January 29 and airs at 4:30 p.m. ET. "This Week in the NBDL" airs live at 9 p.m. ET.
QUIZ ANSWER: Roanoke scored 126 vs. Asheville on January 31. Florida scored 68 against Columbus on December 3.
