NBDL daily developments
Published on January 14, 2005 under NBA G League (G League) News Release
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? At their current pace, the Columbus Riverdragons would shatter the NBDL single season record for average winning margin. The Dragons currently own a points differential of +8.9. The league record is +5.0, set by the Asheville Altitude last season.
DEFENSE WINS: In an interesting twist to Columbus' +8.9 points differential, the Dragons are fifth in the league in average points per game at 92.2 but easily lead the league in average points allowed at 83.3. Asheville posts the next best points allowed total at 93.8, 10.5 points behind in second place.
LENDING A HAND: Twenty-seven (27) percent of all made baskets by the Asheville Altitude were the result of a recorded assist, tops in the NBDL. Even with the league's top assist man in Omar Cook (7.7 pg), Fayetteville is last in the league in this category at 19-percent.
RESERVE FLAME: Since moving into a new role of coming off the bench five games ago, Florida Flame guard Carl English is burning up the nets. In those five games he is averaging 21.6 points, while shooting 55.9-percent (38-68) from the floor, including four of six three pointers. Just for good measure, he has averaged 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists as well.
