MAKE MY GATORADE A DOUBLE: When Columbus post player Obinna Ekezie signed a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, it marked the second GATORADE Call-up in as many days this week. Roanoke forward James Thomas signed a 10-day with the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
IMPROVING PERCENTAGES: Through 49 games this season the average field goal percentage for NBDL teams is .463, up from .459 last season, .444 in 2002-03 and .425 in the inaugural season. Three-point field goal percentage this season is .349, up from .323 last season, .342 in 2002-03 and .330 in year one.
40 FROM 28: There are currently 40 NBA scouts representing 28 NBA teams credentialed for the MLK Showcase, scheduled for Sunday and Monday at the Columbus (Ga.) Civic Center.

SECRETS TO SUCCESS: For the Columbus Riverdragons, 14-1 and owners of a 12-game winning streak, the secret to success lies in protecting the basketball and playing defense. The Dragons lead the NBDL scoring defense (83.8 ppg), field goal percentage defense (.393) and committing the fewest turnovers per game (15.7).
THURSDAY ON NBA TV: Get a healthy dose of the D-League on NBA TV on Thursday, beginning with a trip down memory lane for encore episodes of "Down Low: Life in the D-League" at 3:30 and 4 p.m. ET. Those episodes will be followed by the NBDL "Game of the Week" show at 4:30, featuring the Columbus at Fayetteville game from December 30 and "This Week in the NBDL" at 9 p.m.
FRIDAY AND SUNDAY: The NBDL "Game of the Week" show featuring the January 8 game between Roanoke and Asheville will air Friday at 3:30 p.m. ET. That show will re-air on Sunday at noon.
