NBDL daily developments

NBDL QUOTE OF THE DAY: Florida guard Carl English recently told TSN.ca. that..."The important thing for the players that come to this league is that it's scouted all the time."

SPEAKING OF SCOUTS: The updated tote board for next week's NBDL Martin Luther King, Jr. Showcase in Columbus, Ga. shows that 37 NBA scouts representing 25 NBA teams have already been credentialed to attend.

EIGHT DAYS UNTIL SHOWCASE: The MLK Showcase, featuring every NBDL team in six games over two days, is scheduled for January 16-17 at the Columbus (Ga.) Civic Center. The schedule follows:

Time Jan. 16 Jan. 17
11 a.m. Florida vs. Fayetteville Fayetteville vs. Asheville
2 p.m. Huntsville vs. Roanoke Columbus vs. Huntsville
5 p.m. Asheville vs. Columbus Roanoke vs. Florida

MEATLOAF: After a 1-9 start, the Florida Flame has now managed to pull off the NBDL "Meatloaf". Coach Dennis Johnson's club has now won two out of three, which coincides with the lyrics of one of 70's rocker Meatloaf's top hits that say, "two out of three ain't bad."

REMATCH SATURDAY: Asheville and Huntsville won't have to wait long to try to avenge Friday night losses. Asheville hosts Roanoke and Huntsville plays at Florida again tonight. Fayetteville isn't left out of the rematch action either, hosting Columbus after losing to the Dragons Thursday.

QUICK, START AN IV: The Roanoke Dazzle has its own version of getting needed medicine into the system quickly in forward Isiah Victor, or "IV". Victor came off the bench Friday night to score 18 points and grab five rebounds. Despite not having a start in any of Roanoke's 14 games, he averages 16.4 points and 6.3 rebounds.

WELCOME BACK FOWLKES: It didn't take veteran forward Tremaine Fowlkes long to make his presence felt in Southwest Florida. Despite arriving in Ft. Myers at 1 a.m. Friday, the newest member of the Florida Flame managed to score 10 points, including the game-winning three-pointer in Friday's win over Huntsville.

ALL-STAR PACKAGE: NBDL fans that have dreamed of going to the NBA All-Star Game could now have that opportunity. One lucky winner and three guests will get to live the All-Star Dream with a package that includes four All-Star ticket packages, hotel accommodations for four and round trip airfare for four. Go to NBDL.com to find out how to win.
