January 1, 2005 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
RECORD START: The Columbus Riverdragons are playing for the NBDL record for best start to a season when they host the Fayetteville Patriots tonight. With a victory, the Dragons would improve to 12-1, one game better than the North Charleston Lowgators began the 2001-02 season. Columbus leads the season series with Fayetteville 2-0.
OTHER FALLEN MARKS: Other records have already fallen as the NBDL season makes the New Year turn. The Asheville Altitude set single game records for points in a half (74 in 2nd at Huntsville 12/10) and highest field goal percentage (.657, 46-70 vs. Roanoke 12/7). Huntsville and Columbus combined to block a two-team record 25 shots on November 27.
WHO'S HOT? The Columbus Riverdragons have won nine consecutive games. The NBDL record is 15, set by the Greenville Groove from February 10 through March 14, 2002.
WHO'S NOT? The Florida Flame has lost nine straight games. The league record is 11, set by the Roanoke Dazzle March 4-22, 2002.
