SI.com ON FORMER MVP: NBDL 2003 MVP Devin Brown is turning some heads with his play for the San Antonio Spurs. Kelly Dwyer of SI/.com writes on Dec. 6 that "The biggest – or only – surprise to come out of San Antonio this season has been the improved play of third-year man Devin Brown ...Over his past five games Brown has averaged 14.4 points in just 24 minutes, shooting 58-percent from the floor..."

OH BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU? What are the chances that Brenda and Melvin Knight ever envisioned both of their boys playing pro basketball at the same time in the same state back in the day in Jersey? Brevin, the elder by six years and a guard for the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats, has played in and started 11 games, averaging 7.5 points and 10.2 assists. Younger brother Brandin, also a point guard, has started all six games for the NBDL Asheville (N.C.) Altitude, averaging 8.3 points and 6.2 assists.

HE AIN'T HEAVY, HE'S MY BROTHER: Playing somewhat in the shadow of his brother Geoff last season in Roanoke, center Kevin Owens staged what he hopes is his own Dazzle coming out party Sunday at Columbus, recording a double-double (12 pt and 10 reb) in 33 minutes. In 2003-04 the Penn ('01) product averaged 12.2 minutes, 4.1 points and 3.7 rebounds.

CHASING FIVE: A Columbus victory at home against Asheville on Thursday would establish a new win streak record for the Riverdragons. Coach Jeff Malone's team has won four straight, tying the team mark set three different times, the last being January 24-31, 2002.

NBDL QUIZ: Huntsville and Columbus are both riding four-game win streaks. What current NBDL team holds the record for longest winning streak?

TWIN: In addition to league-wide highlights and a feature on the Florida Flame's inaugural game, this week's episode of "This Week in the NBDL" will feature interviews with Flame head coach Dennis Johnson, Asheville head coach Joey Meyer and Huntsville head coach Ralph Lewis. Airtime is Thursday 9 p.m. ET on NBA TV.
