NBDL daily developments
Published on December 6, 2004 under NBA G League (G League) News Release
WHO'S HOT: The Columbus Riverdragons and Huntsville Flight have both won four consecutive games.
WHO'S NOT: The Florida Flame and Fayetteville Patriots are both riding three-game losing skids.
SPEAKING ENGLISH: Florida guard Carl English is flourishing in his new Southwest Florida digs, averaging 37.0 minutes and 18.8 points per game, good enough for fourth in the league's scoring column. As a reserve for the Charleston Lowgators last season, the Newfoundland native averaged 19.1 minutes and 8.4 points.
WATCHING THE CLOCK: Should Fayetteville guard Omar Cook continue to average 41.4 minutes played over the Patriots next two games, he will pass Sedric Webber as the NBDL career leader in total minutes played. Cook has currently logged 3,516 NBDL minutes. Webber played 3,590 in parts of three NBDL seasons.
FREE ONES: Roanoke forward Terrence Shannon is four free throws made away from moving into second place on that all-time NBDL list. Shannon has made 361 NBDL free tosses and is closing in on Isaac Fontaine's 364. Sedric Webber is the record holder with 420.
NBDL QUIZ: What NBDL employee won the 2000 Wanda Isaac Award for the outstanding Presbyterian College student in community service?
NBDL GAME OF THE WEEK: The NBDL Game of the Week returns to the airwaves of NBA TV later this week. The Nov. 20 game between the Columbus Riverdragons and Huntsville Flight will be aired on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET. The Asheville-Fayetteville game from Nov. 27 is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 10, also at 4:30 p.m. ET.
