NBDL QUOTE OF THE DAY: "This is the best basketball that's being played below the NBA," Pacers scout Kevin Mackey said about the NBDL in a recent interview with the Naples (Fla.) Daily News.
STREAKING: Both the Columbus Riverdragons and the Huntsville Flight are riding four-game winning streaks, while the Florida Flame and the Asheville Altitude have both lost three consecutive games.
MERRITT BADGE: Columbus forward Scott Merritt staged a coming out party of sorts in the Riverdragons two-game road sweep of Florida late this week. In two games at Germain Arena, the rookie from Marquette averaged 23.0 points and 7.5 rebounds while converting 68-percent of his field goal attempts (17-for-25).
EVERY MINUTE COUNTS: Huntsville center Mengke Bateer made the most of his playing time in the Flight's victory at Asheville on Friday. Battling foul trouble, Bateer scored 18 points in 18 minutes, connecting on eight of 10 field goal attempts.

FLAME THIEVES: The Florida Flame has three of the NBDL's top four thieves on its roster. Fayetteville's Omar Cook leads the league in steals at 2.7 per game, but the next three spots are filled by Florida players Carl English (3.0), Kirk Haston (2.5) and Kevin Braswell (2.5).
NBDL GAME OF THE WEEK: Friday night's 100-86 Huntsville victory over Asheville will be featured as the NBDL Game of the Week on NBA TV at 4:30 p.m. ET on December 16.
