NBDL Announced Preseason Slate

August 7, 2002 - NBA G League (G League) News Release


GREENVILLE, S.C. August 7, 2002 – The National Basketball Development League, the NBA's minor league, will tip off the 2002-03 preseason schedule on Thursday, Nov. 7. Each NBDL team will play two preseason games, one home and one away.

The Roanoke Dazzle and the North Charleston Lowgators get things started Nov. 7 at the North Charleston Coliseum with a 7 p.m. tipoff. Seven more games over the next five days will lead up to the start of the NBDL's second regular season on Nov. 15.

The NBDL preseason schedule is as follows:

Mon., Nov. 11 Huntsville at Greenville 7:05 p.m. BI-LO Center

Mon., Nov. 11 Columbus at Asheville 7:15 p.m. Asheville Civic Center

Tues., Nov. 12 North Charleston at Fayetteville 7:30 p.m. Crown Coliseum

The Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), North Charleston Lowgators (S.C.), Huntsville Flight (Ala.), Mobile Revelers (Ala.), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.), Columbus Riverdragons (Ga.), Greenville Groove (S.C.), and Asheville Altitude (N.C.) will compete in a 50-game regular season schedule that tips off on Nov. 15 and runs through March, followed by playoffs.

The league offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. Eight NBDL players and one head coach were called up to the NBA during the NBDL's inaugural season.

Designed to help grow the sport of basketball domestically and internationally, the NBDL serves as a source of on-court talent for the NBA's 29 teams and as a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions.
