
NBA, WNBA players and NBA legends to compete in RadioShack Shooting Stars competition

NEW YORK, February 4 â Four teams, each comprised of an NBA player, WNBA player and NBA legend will compete in the inaugural RadioShack Shooting Stars competition, to be held on NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by America Online, February 14 at the Staples Center.
The star-studded field of twelve will be divided into four teams: Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs. The Detroit team will consist of Pistons guard Chauncey Billups, Detroit Shock forward and 2003 WNBA Rookie of the Year Cheryl Ford, and four-time NBA champion and NBA legend John Salley. The Los Angeles Clippers team will be represented by Clippers guard Marko Jaric, Sparks guard Nikki Teasley and NBA legend Terry Cummings.
Representing the Los Angeles Lakers team Lakers guard Derek Fisher, three-time WNBA All-Star MVP and Los Angeles Sparks center Lisa Leslie and Lakers legend Magic Johnson. The San Antonio Spurs team will consist of Spurs guard Manu Ginobili, recently retired San Antonio Silver Stars guard Jennifer Azzi and NBA legend and TNT analyst Steve Kerr.
The RadioShack Shooting Stars contest will feature six shooting locations of increasing difficulty, with each team attempting to make all shots in order in the fastest time. Each team will select a specific player rotation and follow that throughout the event, with each shot being made before the next one is attempted. The team that completes all six shots in the least amount of time will be declared the winner. Each team will be give up to two minutes to complete the entire shooting course. Should there be a tie, a shoot-off will determine the winner.
The RadioShack Shooting Stars will be broadcast live nationally as part of the NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by America Online and will also feature the Sprite Rising Stars Slam Dunk, 989 Sports Skills Challenge and the Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout. TNT and ESPN Radio will begin their national coverage at 8 p.m. EST from the Staples Center. The NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, February 15 will be televised live nationally by TNT, Rogers Sportsnet and ESPN Radio from the Staples Center at 8pm EST. The game will also be telecast in 212 countries and broadcast in 12 languages on NBA.com.
RadioShack, the Official Consumer Electronics Retailer of the NBA, will conduct promotions around key events such as the NBA All-Star Game and NBA Playoffs at its more than 7,000 stores across the country and through its Web site, RadioShack.com. RadioShack's marketing and advertising initiatives will include prominent RadioShack celebrity spokesperson and perennial NBA All-Star Shaquille O'Neal, complementing RadioShack branding which has been fully integrated throughout NBA.com, NBA TV programming and nationally televised NBA games.
