
NBA Generations Defeat PBA All-Stars at 2009 NBA Asia Challenge

NEW YORK, Sept. 11, 2009 - The NBA Generations team, a squad comprised of NBA Legends and top NBA D-League prospects, defeated the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) All-Stars, 109-86 today. The game was played at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila, and was the third and final game for the Generations team as part of the 2009 NBA Asia Challenge. The NBA's entry finishes the two-country tour with a 2-1 record.
NBA Legend Dominique Wilkins scored a game-high 28 points to go with five rebounds and two steals in a 20-minute performance, while NBA D-Leaguer Marcus Hubbard scored 18 points, grabbing six boards in 18 minutes of action.
The PBA All-Stars led by one point, 26-25, at the end of the first quarter, but the Generations team pulled ahead in the second and never looked back, leading by five points at the half, 46-41. The NBA's squad pulled ahead by 19, 79-60 after three period before securing the 23-point victory.
NBA D-Leaguer Chris Ellis finished with an 11-point 10-rebound double-double and NBA Legend Robert Horry chipped in with 10 points, pulling down five rebounds and dishing out four assists in the win for the Generations.
Allan Caidic led the PBA All-Stars with 15 points, while teammates Willie Miller and Dondon Hontiveros finished with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
