SUNS RECALL TAYLOR GRIFFIN FROM NBA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE AFFILIATE IOWA ENERGY

The Phoenix Suns have recalled rookie forward Taylor Griffin from the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League, it was announced by Suns President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Steve Kerr. Originally assigned for his third stint in Iowa on April 7, the 6-7, 238-pound Griffin appeared in three playoff games, averaging 6.3 points and 9.3 rebounds in 29.0 minutes for the Energy. Griffin started the final two games for Iowa, both wins, in the Energy's 2-1 series victory over Utah. Griffin tallied one double-double and two double-digit rebounding efforts, including a 14-board performance in Iowa's series-clinching victory April 11. Griffin was selected by the Suns with the 48th overall pick (second round) of the 2009 NBA Draft and has appeared in eight games this season for Phoenix.

Reno closed the game on a 7-0 run to beat Rio Grande Valley 128-126 in Game 2 of the 2010 NBA Development League Quarterfinals. Will Blalock hit a pair of free throws to tie the game at 126 with 43.5 seconds left, and D.J. Strawberry drove baseline for a bank shot to give the Bighorns a 128-126 lead with 5.8 seconds left. Rod Benson led the Bighorns with 29 points on 11-for-13 shooting, to go with 19 rebounds. Desmon Farmer added 27 points for Reno. Antonio Anderson led the Vipers with 28 points. Will Conroy added 27 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS: A look at NBA D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games:

32 players with NBA D-League experience competed in 11 NBA games last night, 10 as starters.

Amir Johnson started and scored 26 points for the Raptors in a win over Detroit.

Dorell Wright came off the bench to score 12 points for Miami in a win over Philadelphia.
