BOSTON'S GIDDENS RE-ASSIGNED TO NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE UTAH FLASH
Boston Celtics guard J.R. Giddens was re-assigned to the Utah Flash.The assignment is the 36th this season, and Giddens' third. Giddens was originally assigned to the Flash between Nov. 25, 2008 and Jan. 8, 2009 and then again between Feb. 5 and Feb. 29, 2009. Giddens, a 6-5 rookie guard selected in the first round, 30th overall, by the Celtics in the 2008 NBA draft, has played in six games for the Celtics this season, scoring four points in eight minutes. In 15 games, 12 starts for the Flash, Giddens averaged 17.6 points and 5.7 rebounds while shooting 56 percent from the field. Giddens scored in double figures on 14 occasions, twice finishing with points/rebounds double-doubles. .
FRIDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Friday's games:
Jawad Williams scored a team-high 28-points and Trent Strickland tallied 23 points and four rebounds for Rio Grande. Jared Jordan notched his second straight double-double and his eighth of the season as he scored 15 points and thirteen assists. Quin Humphrey scored 13 to lead the bench in scoring and dished out the game winning assists.
Will Conroy finished one rebound shy of a triple-double as he scored 17 points and dished out a season high 18 assists for the Thunderbirds. Five other Thunderbirds scored in double-figures. Antonio Meeking tallied 22 points off the bench while Mark Walters scored 21 to help the T-bird effort.
Utah Jazz assignee Morris Almond scored a game-high 26 points and all five Utah Flash starters reached double-digits in scoring. Almond also notched his 1,000 point as a Jazz player on assignment to the Flash with a dunk at the 10:51 mark in the second quarter. Kyrylo Fesenko, also on assignment from the Jazz, notched his second-consecutive double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Ronald Dupree netted 22 points and Kevin Kruger added 11 points, six rebounds, and six assists for the Flash. Brian Jackson chipped in 10.
Erie's Maureece Rice knocked down a team-high 22 points for Erie. Erick Daniels dropped in 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Quincy Douby added 19 points. Jackie Manuel chipped in 10 points.
Anaheim finished with three players with 20+ points, two players obtaining double-doubles with Kedrick Brown finishing with 32 points and 14 rebounds and Marcus Campbell taking home 19 points and 18 rebounds. Arsenal guard Cedric Bozeman scored 28 points on the night.
Iowa forward Othyus Jeffers led the Energy with 25 total points. Iowa finished with four players reaching 20+ points, including Courtney Sims who ended with a double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds.

31 players with D-League experience competed in 11 NBA games last night, 6 as starters.
As a starter for Detroit, Will Bynum scored 22 points and dished six assists, as the Pistons defeated the Clippers 108-90.
Philadelphia's Louis Williams notched 20 points to go with six assists and six rebounds.
Denver's Chris Andersen recorded a double-double, scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds off the bench for the Nuggets.
Aaron Brooks and Von Wafer scored 13 points apiece. Brooks, who started for the Rockets, added four assists.
