MORE THAN SCORERS: Six of the top eight scorers in the D-League also rank in the top eight in at least one other key statistical per game category. A quick rundown follows: - Roanoke's Anthony Grundy leads the league in scoring (22.5) and steals (2.5). - Will Bynum of the Dazzle is third in scoring (21.2) and fourth in assists (6.2). - Fayetteville's Erik Daniels is fourth in the league in both scoring (19.8) and rebounding (9.4). - December player of the month Ime Udoka of Fort Worth is fifth in scoring (19.1) and second in steals (2.2). - Pape Sow of Arkansas leads the league in rebounding (12.0) and is seventh in scoring (18.9). - Austin forward Marcus Fizer is eighth in scoring (18.8) and eighth in assists (3.8).

CURRYING THE LOAD: With Austin starting point guard Derrick Zimmerman out the last two games nursing an injury, Ramel Curry has put the Toros on his shoulders and pushed forward. Over those two games, Curry has averaged 40.5 minutes, 24.0 points and 6.0 assists while converting 18-of-37 field goal attempts (486), 7-of-10 three point tries (.700) and 5-of-5 free throw attempts.

TAKE THREE...Coach Dennis Johnson led the Austin Toros into Germain Arena and took three straight games from his old team, the Florida Flame. Sunday evening's victory capped the sweep and gave Johnson a 4-1 record against his old club.

AND CHECK YOUR REARVIEW...Don't look now, but Austin has won five of its last six games to even its record at 7-7 and climb to within two games of first place.

THEY SAID IT: "We all have to realize we're down here for a common goal, to get to the NBA. Winning looks a lot better than everyone putting up big numbers and losing."...Florida Flame center and Minnesota Timberwolves assigned player Dwayne Jones told the Naples Daily News.
