NW Arkansas held the Hooks from a five-win week by surging to a 16-7 victory Sunday evening at Whataburger Field.
CC rallied for five in the eighth to cut the Naturals lead to 7-6. The visitors from Springdale, Arkansas countered with four in the ninth to ensure the win.
Shay Whitcomb sparked the Hooks rally with a two-run home run in the seventh. Justin Dirden and Cesar Salazar each had three knocks to pace the club's 12-hit attack.
Dirden and Joe Perez, 2-for-5, each pulled down doubles, with Perez, Dirden, Wilyer Abreu, Will Wagner and Edwin Diaz also driving in runs.
The Hooks are idle for the all-star break and return to action Friday, July 22 to begin a three-game series in San Antonio.
