National Lacrosse League 2011 Entry Draft Results

The 2011 National Lacrosse LeagueEntry Draft was held earlier this evening in Toronto. With the first overall selection, the Philadelphia Wings selected forward Kevin Crowley out of Stony Brook University. A full recap of the six round draft is listed below.

There were only two trades that took place during the Entry Draft. The Rochester Knighthawks traded Shawn Evans and a first round selection in the 2012 Entry Draft to the Calgary Roughnecks in exchange for Calgary's first round 2011 selection, the fifth overall pick in the draft. Evans had played his entire six-season career with Rochester, scoring 143 goals and 220 assistsin 93 regular season games played. Rochester used the fifth overallselection to draft Johnny Powless out of Six Nations, Ontario. Calgary later traded a fifth round selection to Buffalo for a sixth round selection in 2012.
