Nashville Rhythm signs first player

Nashville, TN. Daniel Bucher, General Manager of the ABA's Nashville Rhythm professional basketball team scheduled to begin play in November today announced the signing of its first player - 6'1" guard, Desmond Cambridge. According to Bucher, "We're very pleased to have a player of Desmond's caliber on-board early in our selection process. His skills and on-court leadership will make this an exciting basketball season."

Cambridge, a standout at Alabama A & M in 2001 and 2002, averaged 20.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in 2002. He is the NCAA Division 1 career leader in average steals per game, averaging 5.5 steals per game in 2002 and was named to College Insider.com's NCAA All-Defense Team in 2001 and 2002 and dished out an average of 5.44 assists per game.
