Nashville Kats Sign, Waive Players

NASHVILLE- With the first week of training camp practices and the team's intersquad scrimmage complete, the Nashville Kats, busy evaluating and preparing for the 2007 season, has decided to waive and sign new players to the Kats' 2007 roster.

The following players have been signed to the Kats; WR Kenny Higgins (6'1 187) who last played with the Memphis Explorers of af2 where he led the club in receptions (93), receiving yards (1,428) and receiving touchdowns (28). WR Wendall Williams (6'0 190) who spent the 2006 season with the Manchester Wolves of af2 where he registered 56 receptions for 647 yards and 17 touchdowns in 11 games played. DB Carlos Campbell (5'11 195) who earned First-Team AIFL honors with the Johnstown Riverhawks in 2006. The Kats also signed two lineman, OL Shawn Draper (6'3 290) who was last signed by the Atlanta Falcons in 2006 and OL/DL Clay Harrell (6'2 300) who registered seven sacks in 2006 with the Everett Hawks of af2.

The Kats waived; WR Brian Bratton, WR Nate Poole WR Tramain Hall WR James Terry, OL Anthony Foli, DB Reggie Myles, and DL Neil Purvis.

The Kats 2007 season is set to kick-off Thursday, March 1st when the club hosts the Columbus Destroyers. Nashville will compete in the AFL's Central Division, a talent-rich division that houses the past two ArenaBowl Champions (Chicago Rush 2006, Colorado Crush 2005) and added the Kansas City Brigade in a realignment change.
