Nashville Broncs News Release

Nashville, TN. The ABA Nashville Broncs played for the first time together against the monumental Zhejiang Guangsha, a professional team from the Chinese Basketball League, on Friday night. Fisk University had a packed gym and a very involved audience. Doors opened at 7pm with a game time of 730pm after a 10 minute delay due to some technical difficulties caused by a lightning storm. Once play began, the two teams provided an exciting evening of basketball.

The crowd let out roars of excitement as each basket was made by the newly-formed Nashville Broncs. Leading the team in points for the game was Marquis Patton of Fisk University with 14 points and 4 rebounds. Marcus Dixon, former ABA Atlanta Vision star, was the leading rebounder for the Broncs with 12. The players had only ten days to prepare for the game and looked as though they had played together for months. To the fans amazement and delight, the Broncs won 91-85.

According to Scott Lumley, team owner, "Nashville has the opportunity to be a part of something new, exciting and affordable - and with today's economy, it's all the more reason to come out and support the team. We've put together an inspiring team of young men, both talented and enriched with positive attitudes and the desire for growth. We're looking forward to a great season."
