American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release
Booster Club Flea Market
The Nashua Pride Booster Club will be hosting an indoor flea market at the VFW Hall located at 2 Quincy Street in Nashua. The flea Market is Sunday, April 13th from 9am to 2pm. To reserve a table or space call Beth at 603-759-6013 or send an email to zaibetha@aol.com. Tables and spaces are available to rent for the event for just $25, so if you have some items you think someone might buy, reserve a table and make some extra cash!
Ken Cail Moves On
Long time Nashua Pride public address and play-by-play announcer, Ken Cail, has accepted a radio play-by-play announcing position for the Lowell Spinners, class-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
Ken had been the voice of the Pride since their inception in 1998 and had seen more than 1,000 games from the press box, but was offered a full time play-by-play opportunity that he felt he could not pass-up.
"It was a very tough decision," Cail said. "The Pride have always been a part of me and have treated me in a first-class way...There have been a lot of thrills long the way."
Olmo Rossario and Steve Palazzolo Break Camp with Giants
Former Nashua Pride shortstop Olmo Rosario and pitcher Steve Palazzolo have been assigned to the Connecticut Defenders, double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's San Francisco Giants.
In his first at-bat with the Defenders, Rosario hit a two-run home run to make his debut against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Eastern League. Rosario was the 2007 Can-Am League Player of the Year with the Pride and will look to make his push to the bigs with the Giants organization.
Steve Palazzolo also made his debut against the Fisher Cats. After walking the first man he faced and then giving up a line-drive single, Palazzolo settled down and recorded a fly-out and then an inning-ending double play to shut down the 8th inning. It was business as usual as Palazzolo was one of the Pride's best set-up men in 2007 and begun to continue the trend with the Defenders.
Peanut-Free Zone
Reserved section 208 will be designated as a peanut-free seating zone at Historic Holman Stadium for the entire 2008 season.
The Pride want to make it possible for those fans who are allergic to the famously popular ballpark snack to enjoy the game without reserve.
Fans who would prefer the peanut-free seating section are asked to advise the box office employee before purchasing a ticket.
Jason Kosow Will Not Return
New Hampshire native and former Pride pitcher Jason Kosow will not be back on Nashua's pitching staff for the 208 season as he has elected to pursue other opportunities abroad in Europe.
