Milwaukee Mustangs News Release
Milwaukee - The Milwaukee Mustangs are excited to announce the signing of veteran arena football quarterback Gino Guidugli. The successful 6'4, 230-pound signal caller is expected to contribute on Saturday night when the Mustangs host the Kansas City Command.
Guidugli played for Head Coach Bob Landsee and his staff in Green Bay during the 2008 and 2009 seasons, where he led the Blizzard to the af2 American Conference Championship game in 2009. Though the Blizzard lost the game 72-67, Guidugli passed for 377 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was named the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week in Week 12 of the 2009 season for his 391-yard, 7 touchdown passing performance against the Iowa Barnstormers, and set a Blizzard single-season passing record with 3,642 yards over the course of the year.
Prior to the Blizzard, Guidugli signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans in 2005 before ultimately being released. After a year in Green Bay in 2007, he signed with the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League before being released after training camp and finding his way back to the Blizzard.
Guidugli played his college football at the University of Cincinnati from 2001 to 2004, where he rewrote the Bearcats' passing and total offense records. He finished his career with 11,453 passing yards, a 56.6% completion percentage, and 78 touchdown passes, while also rushing for 208 yards and five scores. Most recently, Guidugli moved back to the college scene, serving as an offensive graduate assistant on the football coaching staff at Central Michigan University.
The Milwaukee Mustangs return home tomorrow night to take on Kansas City at 7 PM for Variety Night with Green Bay Packer Ryan Grant, along with a tailgate party and "Jackie Brown and the Boys" concert outside the Bradley Center on 4th and Highland from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. It is also Family Night and, for every adult ticket purchased, one child 14 and under receives a free ticket. For more information, please visit www.mkemustangs.com or call 414-224-4000 today!
