Mustangs Release Schedule

Southeast Texas Mavericks News Release


The Southeast Texas Mustangs released their 2008-09 ABA regular season schedule today.

The Mustangs will open their inaugural season in the ABA against one of the perennial ABA powers in Beijing Olympian on Saturday night; December 6th at 7:30 PM at Ford Arena in Beaumont, TX.

Veteran pro basketball coach Steve Tucker will lead the Mustangs. Tucker has established himself as one of the top coaches in the ABA and in professional basketball in his many years as a professional coach. Tucker led both the Jacksonville Jam and Texas Tycoons to the ABA Playoffs. Coach T's Jacksonville Jam won the Southeast Division of the ABA in 2006-07 while compiling 31 wins with only 9 defeats during that banner season! Many former Jam and Tycoons players are rumored to be following their coach to Southeast Texas to play this upcoming season for the SETX Mustangs.

The Mustangs will play a 30 game regular season. Southeast Texas is in the Southwest Division of the ABA and are a part of the ABA's Western Conference. The ABA regular season will end March 9, 2009. The ABA Playoffs will begin the second week of March 2009 and will conclude the weekend of March 21st - 23rd with the ABA Championship Finals that will be held in Nashville, TN.
